Pursue your dreams, achieve your ambitions
Looking for work today is as competitive as ever. This is true whether you’re a school leaver, a university graduate or a seasoned professional. A good CV/resume or application form are still requested by employers offering work, but with the introduction of artificial intelligence some people are able to leaverage the new technology to get ahead of the competition in the job hunt.
That’s why I put together the Job Seekers Toolkit. With the Job Seekers Toolkit you can use AI to help you create a well written CV/resume, targeted at the vacancy you want to apply for. I’ve also added a tool to assist in creating a compelling covering letter taking account of what you can offer and how that experience relates to the vacancy.
Types of CV/resume
I categorise CVs/resumes in to three different types. In each case, the difference is in how the information is organised. The types of CV are:
- Tailored
- Education
- Chronological
A ‘Tailored’ CV is one which organises your work history in order of relevance to the vacancy. That way the most important information is read first. This kind of CV is ideal for someone with some years of relevant work experience. It would also suit a job seeker whose relevant experience is evident at different stages of their working life.
An ‘Education’ CV places your educational achievements first with your work history organised in chronological order below. This kind of CV is important where you have little work experience or when your qualifications are crucial for the role.
A ‘Chronological’ CV organises your work history in date order. If you’ve always worked in similar roles and industry or if all your previous work history is relevant, this CV might be the best choice for you.
